Which goods are prohibited for shipping to Moldova?
Parcel delivery to Moldova is an international express shipment and is subject to certain requirements regarding the transportation of dangerous, prohibited goods, and items not accepted for mailing.
Unfortunately, certain groups of cosmetic products from the Beauty Hunter online store range fall into this category.
The list of prohibited items includes:
- Medicinal products (certain types of anesthetics containing lidocaine);
- Alcohol-based cosmetic products: brow shampoos, degreasers, removers, lamination solutions, permanent makeup pigments, body lotions, foams containing alcohol;
- Flammable substances and goods in pressurized spray cans (brow dyes (except henna), hairsprays, sprays, disinfectants, brush cleaners).
How to place an order with delivery to Moldova?
- Add the necessary items to your cart on the website, keeping in mind the list of goods prohibited for international delivery via Nova Poshta. Please note that orders valued over 200 euros (approx. 7388 UAH at the NBU exchange rate as of 28.10.2022) are subject to customs tax.
- Proceed to checkout and select the "International Delivery" shipping option.
- Provide the delivery details in Latin characters:
- Recipient's full name in Latin;
- Recipient's local Moldovan phone number (with the +373 code);
- Recipient's email address;
- For branch delivery: City in Latin and the Nova Poshta branch number;
- For address delivery: Recipient's full address in Latin (ZIP code, city, street, house No., apartment No.).
- Click "Place Order". A manager will contact you to confirm the order.
Rates for parcel delivery to Moldova
As with any international shipments, the cost of delivery to a parcel locker, Nova Poshta branch, or address delivery depends on the volume and weight of the parcel.
The rates are as follows*:
up to 2 kg - 250 UAH / 128 MDL;
from 2 kg to 10 kg - 325 UAH / 165 MDL;
from 10 kg to 30 kg - 400 UAH / 197 MDL.
*These rates are valid until 31.12.2022
Each parcel has its declared value, which allows the parcel to be insured and ensures reimbursement in case of damage. The declared value of the parcel also affects customs clearance.
If the declared value of the parcel is up to 200 euros*, no customs duties are charged, provided the shipment is from a private individual to a private individual (non-commercial batch). In this case, customs clearance is not required.
If the declared value of the shipment exceeds 200 euros*, a customs duty must be paid during the customs clearance process, which for Moldova ranges from 27% to 30% of the shipment value (for instance, for a parcel worth 300 euros, a tax of approximately 90 euros will need to be paid). Customs duties are paid by the recipient after the parcel passes customs control in Moldova. The recipient will receive an email with payment details.
Please note that the shipment of commercial cargo is prohibited. A commercial batch is considered to be a shipment of more than 3 units of the same product. For example: 3 brow shampoos, 5 boxes of the same henna shade, 4 identical brushes.
It is better to place several separate orders and divide duplicate products between them.
*The amount in euros is calculated according to the current NBU exchange rate.
How to pay for an order to Moldova?
For shipping parcels to Moldova, the same rules apply as for standard international shipments. Shipping is carried out after 100% prepayment for the goods, including delivery costs (international parcels are not sent via cash on delivery). After your order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number to monitor your parcel.
The minimum order amount for delivery to Moldova is 1000 UAH.
Currently, the Moldovan Leu (MDL) is not available on the website; you can choose any available currency and pay by card. Your bank will automatically convert the currency at your bank's internal exchange rate without any extra fees or losses.
Please note that if prohibited goods are detected during customs control, the parcel will be returned to the sender, so please choose your goods carefully for international orders. And remember, you can always rely on help and advice from Beauty Hunter managers.
