We know how much time and effort you spent trying to draw beautiful, symmetrical winged eyeliner. Here are 5 hacks from Anastasia Elis for perfect wings!
Hi, my name is Anastasia Elis and I’m a beauty hunter! Today’s topic is the most in-demand and hottest one!
Yes-yes, I know how much time and nerves you’ve spent in front of the mirror trying to draw a beautiful wing! And there it is — it looks nice and perfect, but there’s a problem: making the same one on the other eye.
Today I’m going to share hacks on how to do winged eyeliner. So, let’s go?!
Hack #1! Tightline the lash line
If you fill in your lash line, any eyeliner — even the thinnest and most invisible wings — will look much better. For tightlining you can use:
By the way, this technique can be used on its own too — you don’t necessarily have to combine it with wings. Filling in the lash line makes the lashes look much fuller.

Hack #2! Make a sketch with eyeshadow.
I think every girl has experienced the moment when trying to draw a sharp wing right away results in a mess. Without practice, it’s extremely hard to choose the right direction for the wing.
If you don’t have time or experience, you can use light brown eyeshadows as a guideline or sketch for the wing. Shadows are less visible and much easier to fix.
You’ll need a flat brush to create a clean line. And then, following the “sketch,” you can safely draw your eyeliner.
By the way, you can replace eyeshadow with a light pencil, but in my opinion shadows are more convenient.
Hack #3! Symmetry with open eyes!
The most common mistake is drawing wings with closed eyes. It’s better to look straight into the mirror and sketch one eye first, then the other. This way you’ll ensure symmetry, and it’s much easier to fix mistakes at this stage than after you’ve already drawn an uneven wing.
Hack #4! Using a stencil.
Brands have created special stencils. How do they work? You place the stencil on your eye and draw along its outline. For example, beautyblender has such stencils. But they also have drawbacks: they are not convenient for gel liners.

Hack #5! If it’s not sharp — blend it.
If your wing just won’t turn out sharp and clean along the upper line, simply blend it out. If it’s a gel liner, you can easily blend it while it’s still fresh. You can do it with a flat brush or any other brush you prefer.
So you end up with a sharp wing on the lower line, while the upper line looks flawless.
By the way, this kind of eyeliner is trending right now!

These were my hacks for creating perfect winged eyeliner. Of course, these are not all existing techniques — there are actually many more! But these are the ones I’ve personally tested and really like.
